The all-new Skoda Slavia is all set to hit the Indian roads on February 28 and is one of the most anticipated launches from the house of Skoda Auto India. Ahead of the launch, Skoda has also announced introducing a four-year maintenance package for the new Slavia sedan priced at Rs. 24,499. The carmaker has also shared that the overall cost of ownership with the package will be just 0.46 paise per km which will include the cost of spare parts, cost of engine oil and the cost of labour.

The Slavia will be manufactured at Skoda Auto Volkswagen India's plant in Chakan, Maharashtra

Skoda will first launch the Slavia 1.0-litre TSI version on February 28, 2022, while the 1.5-litre TSI version will go on sale on March 3 this year. Test drives and deliveries will begin on the respective dates for both versions. The Skoda Slavia is the second offering from the automaker under the India 2.0 strategy and is based on the MQB A0 IN platform. The model shares its underpinnings with the Kushaq that includes the engine and transmission choices as well as a basket of features.

Skoda Auto India has already commenced the series production of the Skoda Slavia. It will be manufactured at Skoda Auto Volkswagen India's plant in Chakan, Maharashtra, and the car will come with 95 per cent localisation. Skoda says that the Slavia has been developed with a focus on the Indian market. The Slavia will be offered in three variants - Active, Ambition and Style, and it will come with two engine options - 1.0-litre TSI three-cylinder engine and a 1.5-litre four-cylinder TSI unit. The former makes 113 bhp and 175 Nm of peak torque, and it comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox and an optional 6-speed automatic torque converter. The bigger 1.5-litre motor makes 148 bhp and 250 Nm of peak torque and comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox and a 7-speed DSG automatic unit. The 1.0-litre is expected to be offered in all three variants, while the 1.5 TSI will only come with the Style trim.
