Highlights

  • K Rajini wins the China SBK in the Superstock B category
  • He had to overcome overheating problems in the first race
  • He is the defending Malaysian SBK Champion as well

The year of 2016 is turning out to be a good year for motorcycle racers in Indian Motorsport. First we got the news that Aravind KP will be participating in the 2017 Dakar Rally with TVS Sherco and now comes the news that ace Indian motorcycle racer Rajini Krishnan made his debut in the Pan Delta Super Racing Festival as a wild card entrant in the Superstock B category and won! He was riding a Kawasaki ZX-10R with China Kawasaki Racing Team.

But it was not all hunky dory for the Indian racer at the Zhuhai International Racing Circuit. He could only manage 3 laps in the qualifying round as the lean angles sensor fell off his motorcycle. Still, he managed to qualify at P3 on the grid, which speaks volumes about his skill and speed.

In the first race, Rajini managed to come up to the second position but then his motorcycle started giving problems and was overheating. As a result, he could not rev the motorcycle to the fullest and go as fast as he wanted to. He had to be content with the 4th position.

In the second race though, things got better for Rajini. With the engine fault being taken care of, he finished the race in the third position overall and had two racers behind him who belonged to the Superstock A category. This led him to win the Superstock B category, which he was participating in. Rajini managed to get on to the top step of the podium in his very first outing at the China Superbike Championship.

But unfortunately, he will not be able to participate in the second round of the China Superbike Championship as the dates clash with the Malaysian Superbike Championsip. We wish Rajini the very best for his races in the Malaysian Superbike Championship and lest we forget, he's the defending champion in that racing series.
