The Kawasaki Ninja 500 was launched in India on January 18, 2025, as the latest addition to the brand's sportbike lineup. It replaces the Ninja 400 and brings a more refined riding experience with its 451 cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine. This engine produces 45 bhp at 9,000 rpm and 42.6 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm, paired with a 6-speed gearbox for smooth performance.
The Ninja 500's design is inspired by Kawasaki’s bigger sportbikes. It features twin LED headlights, a sculpted fuel tank, and an aerodynamic fairing. The bike is available in metallic spark black, offering a sleek and aggressive look.
Built on a steel trellis frame, the Ninja 500 provides excellent stability and handling. It has a 41 mm telescopic front fork and a gas-charged mono-shock at the rear, ensuring a comfortable and controlled ride. For braking, it comes equipped with a 310 mm front disc and a 220 mm rear disc, both with dual-channel ABS for added safety. The bike has a kerb weight of 171 kg, a seat height of 785 mm, and a 14-liter fuel tank.
The Ninja 500 includes a digital LCD instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity, allowing riders to receive call and message notifications. Other features include keyless ignition (KIPASS), a Type-C charging port, and an assist and slipper clutch for smoother gear shifts.
Priced at ₹5.24 lakh (ex-showroom), the Ninja 500 competes with models like the Aprilia RS 457, Yamaha YZF-R3, and KTM RC 390. It offers a well-balanced mix of power, style, and modern features, making it a solid choice for sportbike enthusiasts.
