While he may have lost on the world title, Ferrari driver Sebastian Vettel was at his dominant best during the Brazil Grand Prix as he fended pole-sitter Valtteri Bottas to secure his fifth F1 victory of the season. The Brazilian Grand Prix saw Bottas finish second, while Kimi Raikkonen in the second Ferrari took the third spot on the podium. Lewis Hamilton finished fourth, having started from the pitlane after a crash during qualifying.

Members of 2017 Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton's team were robbed at gunpoint in Brazil. The Mercedes-AMG F1 crew were returning back to their hotel from the Autodromo Jose Carlos Pace circuit in Sao Paulo, where their minibus was ambushed by armed men at around 10 pm (local time). Hamilton tweeted saying that gunshots were fired and a member of the team even had a firearm held to their head.
