Ducati India bags top two steps of the podium in race 1 and race 2 at the 2019 JK Tyre FMSCI National Superbike Championship.

The 2019 Formula 1 championship finally came to an end yesterday as Lewis Hamilton took the final win of the year in the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The season was an incredible one, and it would be safe to say, it was one of the most action-packed ones as well in recent times. While Mercedes and Hamilton proved that they are the undisputed champions of the Formula 1 as we know it today, we also saw the meteoric rise of young drivers including Max Verstappen, who gave his best-ever performance to finish third behind the Mercedes drivers, while Charles Leclerc also turned out to be a force to reckon with, amidst a tumultuous season for Scuderia Ferrari. With the 2020 F1 season sometime away, here's a look at the top moments of the 2019 F1 season.

Bringing an end to another dominant season, Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton cruised his way to the chequered flag to win the 2019 Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The reigning champion started the race in pole position and retained the lead through the race with Red Bull's Max Verstappen taking second, ahead of Ferrari's Charles Leclerc. The Abu Dhabi GP is Hamilton's 11th victory of the year and the 50th pole of his career. The driver also maintains Mercedes record of winning all races at Abu Dhabi since 2014.

Hero MotoSports Team Rally has announced a four-member squad for the 2020 Dakar Rally. India's CS Santosh will be a part of the team, along with Joaquim Rodrigues, Oriol Mena, and Paulo Goncalves.

With the heavyweights in the rally retiring, it was Chetan Shivram and Dr. Bikku Babu taking the win in the K-1000 rally, INRC Round 4, in a surprising twist on the final day.

India's first Formula 1 driver Narain Karthikeyan made the country proud once again as he concluded the 2019 Super GT campaign on a high in his maiden season. The F1 racer won the second Super GT x DTM Dream Race under absolutely wild conditions at the Fuji Speedway in Japan. The win is a big one for the 42-year-old racer and his first since the 2013 Brno AutoGP. Karthikeyan was driving the Honda NSX-GT against a line-up of 21 drivers and put up a brilliant show in both wet and dry conditions.

Riddled with crashes and subsequent penalties, the second race of the Diriyah e-Prix had plenty of action with Mercedes at the top of the constructors' standings after first weekend.

Sam Bird of Envision Virgin Racing powered by Audi won the 2019-20 Formula E season-opening Diriyah e-Prix season opener, as new teams Mercedes and Porsche completed their maiden outing in the electric racing series with a podium respectively. Porsche driver Andre Lotterer finished second while Mercedes' Stoffel Vandoorne finished third on the podium, making it a battle of German powerhouses.
