MG Astor Bookings To Open On October 21, 2021; Deliveries Will Begin From November

Morris Garages India has finally launched the new Astor compact SUV in the country. Available at an introductory price of Rs. 9.78 lakh to Rs. 16.78 lakh (ex-showroom, India), bookings for the SUV will commence from October 21, 2021, onwards. Customers can book the new MG Astor either on the company's official website or by visiting an authorised MG showroom. Having said that, starting today, MG is also allowing interested buyers to pre-reserve a slot to book the SUV on October 21, 2021. We must remind you that these are introductory prices and MG will revise them later.

As for deliveries, MG Motor India has said that the first batch of the Astor SUV will be delivered between November and December 2021. Rajeev Chaba, President and Managing Director of MG Motor India also added the current global shortage of components like Semiconductor Chips is still an issue. However, the company aims to deliver around 5,000 units of the MG Astor by the end of the 2021 calendar year, and the momentum will further continue in 2022.

The MG Astor is offered in four key trims - Style, Super, Smart, and Sharp
The MG Astor is offered in four key trims - Style, Super, Smart, and Sharp, and based on engine and transmission choices, it is further classified into nine variants. All four variants can be bought with the 1.5-litre VTi-Tech four-cylinder petrol engine that puts out 108 bhp and 144 Nm of peak torque and is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. These are priced between Rs. 9.78 lakh to Rs. 13.98 lakh. However, the same engine with an 8-step CVT automatic unit is offered only from the Super trim and above, with prices starting from Rs. 12.68 lakh to Rs. 14.98 lakh (all prices ex-showroom, India).

MG also offered a more powerful 1.4-litre 220Turbo, four-cylinder turbo petrol engine that belts out 138 bhp and 220 Nm of peak torque while mated to a 6-speed automatic torque converter as standard. This engine drivetrain is only offered with the higher-spec Smart and Sharp trims, priced at Rs. 15.88 lakh and Rs. 16.78 lakh (ex-showroom, India) respectively.
