Both these roadsters have a fabric roof that can be opened or closed in about 11 seconds and at speeds of up to 50 km/h. Customers will be able to choose from three colours of black, red and beige. Also, the three-layered fabric is supported by a magnesium/aluminium/steel structure which keeps the centre of gravity low. Also, there is protection from rollover in the form of aluminium cross-members with rollover bars.

Both the roadsters can be optionally fitted with AMG's performance exhaust system, which AMG says makes the exhaust note more emotive. The exhaust note changes track every time a different driving mode is selected.

Mercedes AMG will give the customers an option of getting their AMG GT C Roadster fitted with active rear axle steering. This helps the car to corner better, with higher agility and lesser driving inputs. Also, the turning radius is reduced and this makes day to day driving easier. Both the roadsters also get a rear spoiler integrated into the boot lid, which can be electrically extended and retracted at pre-determined speeds and the selected driving mode.

Another common feature on both the roadsters is the rear-axle locking differential. While the rear differential on the AMG GT C Roadster is electronic, the one on the AMG GT Roadster is mechanical. The body structure on both the cars makes use of various lightweight material alloys of Aluminium and Magnesium, which improves agility and performance.

There is no word on these models making it to India in the near future, but with Mercedes-Benz, one never knows. We are keeping our fingers crossed.
