The Kawasaki Ninja 650 is regarded as one of the more affordable premium motorcycles to come from the house of Kwacker and the Japanese bike maker has just turned this sports tourer extremely desirable with a price slash of Rs. 40,000. The Ninja 650 now starts at a price tag of Rs. 4,97,420 (ex-showroom, Delhi), instead of the previous price tag of Rs. 5,37,420. The new price is effective from August 1.

Kawasaki says that the discounts are part of the 120th anniversary celebrations. In fact, the bike maker had offered a $500 discount last year in several markets on the 2016 Ninja 650. In India though, the price cut is being offered on the 2015 editions of the Ninja 650, which means the bike won't get the new livery offered on the MY2016 models. Kawasaki says the price slash is one of the ways to expand its customer base so that everyone can enjoy its high performance motorcycles. And we couldn't agree more.

The massive discount is an effective way to clear last year stocks of the Ninja 650 and makes the sports tourer a bargain if you ask. More so, since the either year models are technically the same bike powered by the 649cc twin-cylinder engine tuned to produce 70bhp and 64Nm of torque, whilst paired to a 6-speed gearbox.

The Kawasaki Ninja 650 is locally assembled and has always been a smart buy, given how competitively the model is priced, especially when you compare it to the exceptionally priced Ninja 300. With the Rs. 40,000 discount, the price disparity is lesser between both models with the Ninja 300 carrying a price tag of Rs. 3.67 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). While the price cut is limited to the Ninja 650, you can also pick on dealer level discounts on the ER-6n street-fighter that is now around Rs. 30,000 cheaper than its full faired sibling.
