India Kawasaki today announced the launch of the 2018 Kawasaki Ninja 650 ABS in a new candy plasma blue colour. Priced at Rs. 5.33 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the new blue colour Ninja 650 ABS will be available in limited numbers and bookings have commenced across Kawasaki showrooms in India. India Kawasaki will discontinue its existing Ninja 650 ABS in black colour while the existing green and black shade will continue to be on offer. Furthermore, the special edition Kawasaki Ninja 650 ABS KRT edition with colour and graphics inspired by Kawasaki Racing Team, which was launched in 2017, is also still on sale for Rs. 5.49 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Announcing the launch of the new candy plasma blue Kawasaki Ninja 650 ABS, Yutaka Yamashita, Managing Director of India Kawasaki Motors said "We take a lot of pride in different colour combinations, though the green and black is our signature style. The Ninja 650 in black received a very good response in the Indian market. Now we are expecting the same for blue Ninja 650 ABS."

Mechanically, the 2018 Kawasaki Ninja 650 ABS remains unchanged, powered by the same 649 cc liquid-cooled, 4-stroke parallel twin engine that churns out a maximum of 67 bhp and 65.7 Nm of peak torque. The motor comes mated to a 6-speed transmission.

As for other equipment, up front, the bike comes with a 41 mm telescopic fork and horizontal back-link monoshock suspension at the rear. Braking duties are handled by dual 300 mm petal discs with dual piston calipers for the front wheel and single 220 mm disc with single piston caliper for the rear wheel. The bike now gets updated brake callipers from Nissin and there is also a Bosch 9.1 ABS system offered as standard.
