Intermot 2016: Suzuki Introduces All-New GSX-S750 Motorcycle
Highlights
- The GSX-S750 is the baby brother to the bigger Suzuki GSX-S1000
- The bike is powered by a 749cc engine sourced from the GSX-R750
- The new Suzuki GSX-S750 comes in both ABS and non-ABS versions
After the big unveiling of the all-new Suzuki GSX-R range at the ongoing 2016 Intermot, the Japanese motorcycles marque recently introduced yet another new motorcycle at the motor show. Christened the Suzuki GSX-S750, this new naked/street motorcycle is essentially the baby brother to the bigger and more menacing GSX-S1000 that we rode a few months back. The bike mirrors the muscular characteristics and aggressive stance of the GSX-S1000, along with some new styling and equipment that differentiates it from the latter.
The heart of this new exceptional-looking bike is the same tried and tested 749cc in-line-four, liquid-cooled, DOHC engine that powers the much more popular Suzuki GSX-R750. The 4-stroke motor is a street-tuned version GSX-R750’s engine, designed to maximise smooth throttle response and deliver immediate, controlled acceleration. The updated motor now produces additional power as well in the GSX-S750 at 112bhp instead of 104bhp produced by the GSX-S750. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed transmission.
Among a host of smart features, the new Suzuki GSX-S750 comes in both ABS and non-ABS derivatives along with a three-mode traction control system for different road conditions. This new traction control system is said to provide greater confidence and reduces fatigue by delivering control over engine output that helps prevent rear wheel spin. Up front, the bike comes with inverted telescopic, coil spring suspension and link type, coil spring monoshock at the rear.
Suzuki says that Like the GSX-S1000 and other GSX motorcycles from Suzuki’s line-up, the heart, and soul of the new GSX-S750 are inspired from Suzuki’s MotoGP race experience. “The GSX-S750 features aggressive styling and a look of quality worthy of the series. Handily responding to the needs of today’s market, it looks better and outperforms both the GSR750 – its popular predecessor – and other entries in the class. It is nimble, comfortable and rider-friendly,” said the company in the statement released during the unveiling of the bike.
