The India Bike Week is finally here and several bikers from across county will be heading towards to Vagator, Goa for IBW 2017, on November 24-25. Touted as Asia's largest bikers' festival and motorcycle event, the India Bike Week will offers some exciting showcases right from custom motorcycles to new bike launches. IBW 2017 is expected to see the great migration of over 20,000 bikers as they make their way to Goa for the love of two wheels. 1. Riding Clubs
India Bike Week is all about the brotherhood and this year too the love will be present. The annual event will host over 280 pan Indian and Asian riding clubs this year with the 3 largest introducing themselves on stage. The 30 clubs will also be a part of the club parade while showcasing their dedicated banner at the IBW club pavilion.
2. Flat Track Racing
For 2017, IBW will have a purpose-built flat-track Harley-Davidson Street 750 by Rajputana Customs and will invite bikers to lay down their best flat-track-timed laps. The fastest rider on the clock will win a grand prize of Rs. 25,000.
3. Participate And Win
There's always something to do at IBW and the two-day is packed up with mini events like the IBW - Indian Bike Build Off, which witnesses some of the wackiest creations on two wheels. You can even hit the dynamometer at Dyno Wars and test your bike's true power output. There's also Burn Out and Loudest Bike competitions with prizes and bragging rights up for grabs. If you want to aimlessly chill for a while, there's also the IBW film festival that showcases some interesting stories of long distance, transnational bike trips on celluloid.
4. Motorcycle Art And Good Music
The fifth edition will also see the Moto Art Project, which will be home to motorcycle inspired art including murals, street art, photos and more. There will be upcycled moto parts by Sawant Sanskar, Prankur Rana and George Mathen (Appupen Comics), Garage 52 among others on display. Furthermore, the music scene never seems to disappoint at IBW. From indie bands to international DJs, there's always something to groove to at the main stage, while the evenings are all about letting your hair lose and dancing to the groove.
5. Better Riding
Triumph Motorcycle will be hosting the Triumph Tiger Trail at IBW 2017 at the Enduring Track. Sign up for one of the classes and learn the basics of off-road to learning a few life skills. Make sure to carry you gear along and you can even sample the enduro track on one of the Tigers, under professional guidance.
6. Global Bikers
IBW has always given the opportunity to interact with motorcyclists from around the world, some of which are nothing less than icons. While we caught up with motocross rider Dougie Lampkin last year, the fifth edition will see world's fastest woman on two wheels, Leslie Porterfield grace the event along with Freddie Spencer, one of the more iconic racers from the 1980s and the only man to win back-to-back championships in two classes 250 cc and 500 cc.
7. Biker Mart
There will be some of the world's best biking and accessory brands to showcase world-class gear at the all-new Biker Mart and Expo. Over 100 bike accessory shops include Performance Racing Store, Outdoor Travel Gear, Rynox, Big Bad Bikes, High Note and more.
8. Speakers At IBW
Looking for some inspiration or just awe-inspiring motorcycle stories? The speakers at IBW this year are certainly to look forward to and include the likes of Vinod Rawat (prosthetic leg rider/ racer), Melissa Pierson (American author and biker), Kumar Shah (Vadodara to London), and Dhruv Dholakia (TEDx speaker and pan India bike tripper). 9. Eat Street
While beer options will be in abundance at the IBW Garden, the event will also have a host of eatery options right from the typical Goan food, food trucks, home chefs and barbeque options to choose from.
10. Cheaper tickets
Celebrating its fifth year, India Bike Week tickets are being offered at a much cheaper price and can be had for Rs. 1750 for two days, inclusive of taxes. You can book the same at IBW's official website. Entry is free for kids under the age of 12 years. Start them young eh!
