Hyundai's Verna Facelift Ready to Roll!

Hyundai now claims the face lifted car has undergone a certain degree of re-engineering, and so now improves on it's performance attributes too. Besides that it adopts some elements of Hyundai's Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design - which was first seen on the new i20 in India.

    It has been our NDTV Car of the Year in 2012, and has been an immensely popular model ever since it was first launched in its 4th generation worldwide in 2011. Known as the Accent in most other markets, it is also called Solaris in some. At the time, while the car was appreciated for bringing great styling and an impressive feature list to buyers in the compact sedan space. So even though it seemed to be the best overall proposition versus it's rivals, on performance and handling the Verna seemed to lack.

    Hyundai now claims the face lifted car has undergone a certain degree of re-engineering, and so now improves on it's performance attributes too. Besides that it adopts some elements of Hyundai's Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design - which was first seen on the new i20 in India. On the inside the cabin has been refreshed to reflect a more upmarket feel, than before. The seats have been redesigned to add to comfort too, and there are new metallic elements added to add to the high-end feel.

    The company claims that the biddy shell of the car has been reworked to add to structural rigidity, and it also now has the option of 6 airbags at the top-end to enhance safety. It also still has it's parking sensors and reverse camera. The car's infotainment system has also been upgraded, with 6-8 speaker options.

    The Verna will continue to be offered in its existing range of 1.4 and 1.6 litre diesel and petrol engines, and also with the option of manual and automatic transmissions for both fuel types. The Verna 4S as it is being christened will debut on the 18th of February, and prices are expected to stay in line with the competition cars like the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz and Honda City.
