At a time when several mainstream two-wheeler manufactures are getting into the electric mobility space, Piaggio India has confirmed that it won't be launching an electric scooter in the country any time soon.

EMotorad, will soon launch a new heavy-duty electric cycle specifically for the last-mile delivery segment in India. Christened the EMotorad Cosmos, the new electric cycle is slated to be launched in India in the next three months.

Production of the new electric scooters should start soon, and are expected to be offered on sale in Europe and in Japan to begin with.

With the fresh funding, eBikeGo plans to scale up operations to 30 cities by FY2022 while achieving 20 million deliveries and save 4,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions.

Pune-based EV start-up, EMotorad, has announced its plan to expand its network to over 100 cities across India by the end of 2021. The company already has over 90 outlets across 42 cities, and over 50 service centres.

Pune-based EMotorad is one such start-up that has made a strong case for itself in the electric bicycle space. The company, which started its operations in mid-2020 with the launch of its maiden product, the EMX electric cycle, in recent months has added two new products to its line-up - the Karbon and T-Rex.

The company plans to invest Rs. 700 crore for e-mobility manufacturing plant in Ranipet, Tamil Nadu.

The KM3000 is priced at Rs. 1.27 lakh with a top speed of 100 kmph, while the KM4000 is priced at Rs. 1.37 lakh, with a top speed of 120 kmph.
