After launching the new GLS flagship SUV, Mercedes-Benz India is now eyeing to launch its first electric car - EQC EV in the country. The Stuttgart-based carmaker is expected to launch the EV in the next couple of weeks. Initially revealed in Sweden in 2018, the highly awaited Mercedes-Benz EQC was expected to be launched in India towards the end of the last year. But, the EV was not launched in India last year. Later, the company announced its plans to launch the same by April this year, which also got delayed due to coronavirus pandemic. Nevertheless, the carmaker is all set to launch its first luxury electric SUV in India soon.

Ford has shared that the Mustang Mach-E owners will get 250 kWh of complimentary recharging which is enough to give five full electric charges depending on the battery it is equipped with.

Spanish car maker SEAT has entered the electric two-wheeler market by introducing the SEAT MO urban mobility brand, and a new electric scooter which is said to have the performance of a 125 cc motorcycle.

The car will officially be unveiled on June 30, 2020 and will be presented in petrol, diesel and electric options

Bengaluru-based Ather Energy has introduced the seventh Over-The-Air (OTA) update on the Ather 450 electric scooter. The latest software update 4.2.0 will be available for all existing Ather 450 customers and brings the Dark theme to the electric offering's dashboard for an improved night riding experience. There are several other enhancements including a more responsive keyboard that responds to the finger touch without any lag, while the scooter now saves your previously selected riding mode and will start in that mode allowing the rider to resume where they left.

The Coronavirus pandemic forced the ongoing 2019-20 Formula E season to be temporarily suspended, but the electric racing series is coming back to conclude the current season. Formula E has announced that the 2019-20 season will resume in August this year with three doubleheaders in quick succession. All the six races will be held at the historic German airfield in, each using a different track configuration, allowing teams to apply distinct strategies all the six races. The three doubleheaders are scheduled on August 5/6, 8/9 and 12/13, this year.

Tesla Inc has signed a three-year pricing deal with Japan's Panasonic Corp relating to the manufacture and supply of lithium-ion battery cells at the Gigafactory in Nevada, the electric carmaker disclosed in a filing on Tuesday.

Volkswagen is increasing its stake in U.S. company QuantumScape by up to $200 million to boost the development of solid-state battery technology that aims to increase the ranges of electric cars and shorten charging times, the German carmaker said.
