U.S. electric vehicle maker Tesla Inc sold 14,954 Shanghai-made Model 3 vehicles in China in June, up 35% month-on-month, according to the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA).

California-based electric car manufacturer, Tesla Inc., might be considering opening a new Gigafactory in Asia, but this one will be outside China. Tesla CEO, Elon Musk recently hinted at the possibility of setting up a new facility while replying to a Twitter user, who asked if the company has plans to expand its Gigafactories in Asia, outside China.

Tesla's Chief Executive Officer Elon Musk is "a genius who defies common sense and can be overly optimistic," Panasonic's CEO said on Tuesday, as the Japanese firm cautiously moves to expand a battery partnership with the U.S. carmaker.

Electric two-wheeler manufacturer, Ampere Vehicles, the wholly-owned subsidiary of Greaves Cotton, has announced acquiring ownership stake in electric 3-wheeler company Bestway Agencies Pvt Ltd. (BAPL), for an undisclosed amount. Ampere Vehicles has acquired 74 per cent stake in the Noida-based company, subject to customary closing conditions.

Tesla Inc outpaced analyst estimates for second-quarter vehicle deliveries on Thursday, defying a trend of plummeting sales in the wider auto industry as coronavirus-linked lockdown orders kept shoppers at home, and sending its shares up 8%.
