CEAT Launches Tyres With Coloured Tread Wear Indicator

- Embedded yellow strip becomes visible as tyres wear out
- Feature available on CEATs Milaze X3 tyres
- Available in 205/65 R15 and R16 sizes
Having tyres with proper treads plays a major part in road safety with the treads designed to help tyres find traction on a multitude of surfaces and driving conditions. The question that arises though is how you know when your treads are too worn out. While most tyres do come with wear indicators – tiny elevations within the longitudinal grooves of the tyres – CEAT has come out with another solution with its new Color Tread Wear Indicator tyres.
“Consumer insight studies revealed that most of the users are not aware of when to change the tyres. Driving worn out tyres could be unsafe for them and everyone around on the roads. We have come up with an innovative product with Colour Tread Wear Indicator technology with an aim to make our customers aware of the time to change tyres for safety,'' said Ankur Kumar, Chief Marketing Officer, CEAT Tyres Ltd.

Yellow strip becomes visible as the tread wears out.
The new Color Tread Wear tyres feature a yellow strip embedded within the tyres that becomes visible as the treads wear out suggesting that the tyres are due for a replacement. The strip is not visible on new tyres.
Currently the coloured tread wear indicators will only be available on CEAT's Milaze X3 tyre range in two sizes – 205/65 R15 and 205/65 R16.
