Bounce Share, Howdyy Partner For Last-Mile Delivery Service

Logistics start-up, Howdyy has entered into a partnership with Bounce Share, the EV rental arm of Bounce, for last-mile delivery services. Under the partnership, the two companies will deploy over 10,000 electric scooters onto Indian roads over the next two years for Howdyy's delivery service. The scooters will come equipped with Bounce's battery swapping technology and will be deployed across five cities – Bengaluru, Mumbai, Pune, Chennai and Hyderabad.
Speaking on this partnership, Aashirwad Deshmukkh, Founder and CEO of Howdyy, said “We are thrilled to partner with Bounce for this strategic collaboration. Howdyy entered the logistics service in 2020 with the company's vision being to push the use of electric vehicles in mid-mile and last-mile deliveries. Aside from promoting the use of EVs in last-mile delivery services, the partnership also aims to create as many as 20,000 new jobs for delivery persons across the five cities.

Battery Swapping technology helps reduce the wait time for charging electric vehicles with riders just requiring swapping out batteries with a charged pack from designated swapping stations. This is said to reduce the wait times required to charge EVs from a few hours to just a few minutes.
