The Japanese motorcycle manufacturer is all set to introduce an all-new Suzuki GSX-R750, possibly as a late 2018 or 2019 model, according to reports. It's not clear yet whether Suzuki will be launching the GSX-R750 in India, mostly because the Indian superbike crowd leans heavily towards the litre-class models, more than the middleweights.

Motorcycles costing Rs 1 lakh or more may be levied a 6 per cent additional motor vehicle tax in Karnataka, if a budget proposal presented in the state assembly is passed. The tax slab for bikes falling in this bracket (costing Rs 1 lakh or more) is to be raised from the existing 12 per cent to 18 per cent, according to the proposal.

The upcoming KTM 790 Duke has been spotted testing in Spain, and from the looks of the photos, it seems these are the final stages of testing with the test bikes almost complete. The new parallel-twin KTM, called the LC8c motor, uses a 270-degree crank and is controlled by a ride-by-wire set-up. KTM is expected to launch the new 790 Duke sometime in 2018 with the bike being unveiled later this year at the 2017 EICMA show.

Ever since Ducati re-launched itself in India in 2015, it has been seeing positive results. The company would like to try and get a bigger slice of the performance motorcycling segment in India. Ducati sold over 580 units in the country in 2016, which was an increase of 18 per cent over the sales of 2015. The total sales of Ducatis in India went past the 1,000 mark for the first time with the market share growing from 6.4 per cent to 7.7 per cent.

Troubled Italian motorcycle manufacturer MV Agusta's financial future seems to be secure with jts debt restructured in Italian courts and investment from the Black Ocean Group. Although MV Agusta announced that the company's liquidity crisis meant no new superbike was planned for 2017, now it seems the Italian marquee is back on track with a new model planned for later this year after all. MV Agusta CEO Giovanni Castiglioni has told MCN that there are three new models currently under development.

India Yamaha Motor Private Limited (IYM), the Indian arm of the Japanese two-wheeler major, is planning to export over 2.2 lakh scooters and motorcycles from its manufacturing plants in India, Chairman of Yamaha Motor India Group Companies, Hiroaki Fujita said in a statement. Yamaha also intends to sell over 10 lakh two wheelers in the domestic market in 2017.
