The Goods and Services Tax, or GST impact on prices of two-wheelers have certainly affected prices, but only marginally. A few two-wheeler manufacturers have already announced prices with GST benefits before the announcement of the new taxation system on 1 July 2017. Here's what the industry has to say about the new taxation norm.

India Yamaha Motor Pvt Ltd has announced new prices across its two-wheeler range after the implementation of a flat Goods and Service Tax (GST). The new prices across Yamaha's scooter and motorcycle range are applicable from immediate effect, the company said in a statement.

The country's largest two-wheeler maker Hero MotoCorp has reduced prices of its mass selling models by up to Rs 1,800 to pass on GST benefits to its customers. "The quantum of reduction ranges from Rs 400 to Rs 1,800 on mass-selling models," the company said in a statement.

Piaggio India Private Limited (PVPL) has announced the launch of the Vespa and Aprilia SR 150 range of scooters in Sri Lanka. Both the Vespa and the Aprilia SR 150 scooters are manufactured in India at the company's Baramati plant, in Maharashtra.

Contrary to reports, the Royal Enfield Himalayan has not been discontinued from the market as recent reports have suggested and the BS-IV model is due for launch later this year. Production till then has been temporarily suspended as RE works on the updated model with fuel injection.

Bajaj has launched the Pulsar NS160 in India at Rs. 82,400 (ex-showroom, Pune). The company decided to have soft launch for the bike instead of a formal launch event. The Pulsar NS160 has already started arriving at dealerships across the country.

BMW Motorrad has already sold close to 150 bikes in the two and a half months since the company started operations in India, and it's the adventure bikes like the GS and GSA, which seem to be leading the sales volumes
