With Audi's strong focus on expanding its SUV line-up, the addition of more Q cars is a given. The German carmaker, that had released the official renderings of its new all-electric Q6 SUV a few months ago, has announced that the aforementioned SUV will be able to offer a maximum range of over 500Km.

With the concept that will preview this all-electric Q6 set to debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show next month, Audi has revealed more details about the production model. Primed for a 2018 launch, Audi is working with LG Chem and Samsung SDI on a new battery which will endow the all-electric car with a range of more than 500Km.

Though not much else is known about the Q6, it is likely to be built on the MLB Evo platform, and will also reportedly get 3 electric motors that will, together, put out 500bhp and 700Nm of maximum torque. The production model will borrow parts from the R8 e-tron.

Just so you know, the all-electric Audi Q6 SUV will take on the likes of Tesla X, BMW X6, and Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe upon its arrival in the market.
