2026 Kawasaki Z900RS Unveiled

- Gets IMU-based rider support electronics package.
- Features new megaphone mufflers.
- Cruise control and bi-directional quickshifter offered as standard.
Kawasaki has updated the Z900RS for the 2026 model year, but this time, the changes are more than just a colour update. The updates include changes to the bike’s engine, chassis and electronics package, ensuring the legendary ‘Z’ model name isn’t taken for granted but justified by upgrading to the next level to remain up to date with the current times. Internationally, besides the standard variant the motorcycle will continue to be offered with a higher-spec SE variant equipped with premium cycle parts for the suspension and braking.
Starting the powertrain, the Z900RS retains the same 948cc inline-4 mill, but it now produces 5 bhp more power at 114.4 bhp and a slight bump up on peak torque rated at 98Nm. The gear ratios for the 6-speed gearbox have been revised and the bike has been updated with a ride-by-wire system. The motorcycle features a new megaphone-style exhaust with revised piping, contributing to a more refined exhaust note. The chassis has also been tweaked at places to improve the overall dynamics of the motorcycle.

Moving to the electronics package, the Z900RS is now smarter thanks to IMU-based rider aids consisting of cornering traction control and cornering ABS. It also gets cruise control and bi-directional quick shifter as standard. As for the cycle parts, the motorcycle is suspended by 41 mm USD fork setup at the front and a preload-adjustable monoshock at the rear. Braking duties are handled by disc brakes at both ends, 300mm twin disc at the front and a 250mm single disc at the rear.

Lastly for the 2026 edition, Kawasaki has introduced two new colour schemes namely Candy Tone Red and Black Ball, the former paying tribute to the 1975 Kawasaki Z1B. The 2026 Z900RS has been unveiled for the European market with the prices yet to be announced. As for India, expect Kawasaki to launch the motorcycle sometime in the coming year.
