Electric Powertrain & Range

We expect the Tigor EV to get the same 30.2 kWh lithium-ion battery that powers the Nexon EV

Tata had already confirmed that all-electric vehicles with Ziptron powertrain technology will come with a Lithium-Ion battery with IP-67 certification and an 8-years warranty. Also, all Ziptron powered EVs will come with a range of above 250 km on a single charge. Thus, we expect the Tigor EV to get the same 30.2 kWh lithium-ion battery that powers the Nexon EV, along with a new Permanent Magnet Synchronous electric motor. Expect the Indian Driving Cycle (IDC) figures to breach the 300 km mark, while the real figure could be between 200-250 km on a single charge.

Tata might also offer its iRA connected car tech along with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. In terms of safety features, the car is expected to get all the necessary safety bits like dual airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, options rear parking camera, seat belt reminder and more.
