Highlights

Tata Motors, the home-grown automajor, is working on a minor facelift of its flagship SUV - the Safari Storme. In fact, the company has started testing the vehicle and the SUV has been spotted testing in the country several times. This facelift looks like yet another attempt to increase the car's sales since the Safari Storme has been unable live up to the company's sales expectations.

Talking about exterior changes, the updated Safari Storme will feature an updated front bumper and a new honeycomb grille. Except for the aforementioned changes, the car looks exactly like the the existing model. The cabin too remains largely the same, save a new infotainment system and the front-facing third row.

As far as the powertrain is concerned, the company might fit a more powerful version of the 2.2-litre VARICOR turbo diesel engine with a 6-speed manual gearbox this time. The similar engine also powers the updated Aria crossover. Producing 148bhp and 320Nm, the updated engine is only slightly more powerful than before. Also, if rumours are to be believed, Tata might reduce the vehicle's price albeit slightly. The existing model is priced between Rs 9.93 lakh - Rs 13.70 lakh.
