Skoda India has an onslaught of new offerings lined up for launch in the next two years with at least four new models confirmed in 2020. While we recently told you about the Karoq SUV's launch details, Skoda has officially said that the Superb facelift will also be arriving next year with the launch scheduled on May 2020. Zac Hollis, Director Sales, Service & Marketing, Skoda Auto India, has confirmed the development via Twitter and the company's flagship sedan will arrive with several cosmetic upgrades and feature additions over the current model. Meanwhile, the Kodiaq BS6 will also arrive by late 2020. It's unclear if the diesel engine will continue to power the SUV or if it will continue with a petrol motor.

Pulling off a surprise, Skoda may also introduce the Superb Facelift with a new plug-in hybrid powertrain which was expected in the next-generation model. For the first time in the history, Skoda will be offering a hybrid model and we are expecting it to borrow the powertrain from the Volkswagen Passat GTE. The same 1.4-litre, turbocharged TFSI petrol motor which powers the Audi A4 is expected to be coupled with an electric motor in the upcoming Skoda Superb. We have seen the same powertrain earlier at the 2016 Auto Expo in the Volkswagen Passat GTE plug-in-hybrid variant in which it develops 212 bhp and 400 Nm of peak torque. The 2020 Skoda Superb is likely to get it in the same state of tune.

The Skoda Superb sedan is due for an update later this month and the Czech car maker has given us the first official glimpse of the updated model with the new sketches. The newly released sketches point at subtle upgrades on the Toyota Camry rival while retaining the trademark butterfly grille, albeit with redesigned headlamps, bumper and possibly new alloy wheels too. The Skoda Superb facelift will break cover at the 2019 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship in the Slovakian capital, Bratislava. The current generation Superb has been on sale since 2015 and the update comes as a mid life-cycle to keep up with the competition.

Skoda Auto India has now made buying its Superb sedan more affordable than before as part of its new program. The Czech automaker has introduced the new EasyBuy buyback program for Superb customers in the country that allows owners to purchase the company's flagship sedan at the EMI of a car in a lower segment. The EasyBuy program can be availed exclusively though Skoda Financial Services and offers an assured buyback value of 57 per cent for a new Superb at the end of a three-year contract term. The new program can be availed with any of the Superb variants currently on sale.
