Volkswagen has announced that its Osnabruck plant will begin building the Porsche Cayenne starting 2015. This won't be the first Porsche to roll off the assembly line in Osnabruck; the Cayman and the Boxster are already built here.

Volkswagen will invest 25 million Euros into the plant to ensure that the annual capacity would churn out 20,000 Cayennes.

According to the people at Volkswagen, "Optimization of the existing factory capacity and the agreed assembly of the Porsche Cayenne in Osnabruck underlines the high degree of flexibility within the [Volkswagen] Group wide production network and is simultaneously for the good cooperation between Volkswagen and Porsche."
