Highlights

Subaru has finally released footage of Mark Higgins' record setting lap at the Isle of Man TT Road Course in the 2015 WRX STI. The video shows Higgins talking about his old record and trying to understand the science behind the Isle of Man TT and how it actually is not man v/s machine but more man and machine.

Higgins' first run around the 59.5 km course was completed in 19 minutes and 26 seconds at an average speed of 187.44 km/h beating his previous record of 19 minutes and 56.7 seconds in the 2010 WRX STI. Obviously he thought, one more round would see him go faster and that prompted him to go for a second run.

On his second attempt he managed to go even faster and lapped the course in 19 minutes and 15 seconds at an average speed of 189.11 km/h in the 2015 WRX STI.

Higgins said, "I can't say enough about the new WRX STI and how much abuse it has taken as we have really ridden it hard over this course for three very fast runs and this is definitely not an easy course. The chassis on this new car is just night and day."

The video tells all and is worth a watch.
