Highlights

The 2013-14 financial year has been very good for Honda Cars India. Some new launches saw the company break the shackles and set new records for itself. The month of March saw Honda growing by 83.4% across the last financial year. The growth was spearheaded by the Amaze and the City, while the total sales came upto 1,34,339 units in 2013-14.

The City, however, reigned supreme in its segment and beat the likes of the Hyundai Verna yet again. In February 2014 Honda sold around 7213 units of the City while March saw a growth in that number taking the tally to 9518 units.

This number has been unchallenged by the likes of the Hyundai Verna. Mind you, the Hyundai Verna even in the best of its months sold 3000-5000 units. Hyundai has not revealed the number of Verna's they've sold but we don't expect that number to be higher than the City.

The City has a lot to offer and the people in India have been waiting for it for a long time and finally that it gets a diesel powertrain, Honda has received the desired or may we say more than expected response.

Honda has two more cars in the pipeline for this year, the Mobilio MPV and the Jazz and they will be launched this financial year. The City has livened up the hopes of the Japanese car manufacturer this year and they will look forward to another year of strong sales with the other two cars.
