For Elon Musk's very difficult year, there's a light at the end of the tunnel. Specifically, it's a 1.14-mile tunnel the inventor and beleaguered CEO of Tesla Motors says is a first step in solving "soul-destroying" urban traffic. In 2016, Musk - already busy running two high-profile companies - founded a firm called the Boring Company to tackle the problem by drilling underground. Some thought it was a joke. Two years of big promises and $40 million of Musk's own money later, his just-in-time innovation machine delivered a functioning test tunnel on Tuesday.

The Union Cabinet was on Monday apprised of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with France that seeks to support the governments ambitious plan for the deployment of electrical vehicles by maximising solar mobility and minimising its grid impact. The MoU was signed in October between the Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd (SECI), India and Commissariat lenergie atomique et aux energies alternatives (CEA) -- French state-owned research entity, and BlueStorage SAS, a French company.

The Indian Government has finally announced a policy for the rollout of electric vehicle charging infrastructure. In an official document that was sent out by the Ministry Of Power on December 14, 2018, the government has outlined several key facts, figures and a plan to support the expansion of electric vehicles in the country. The push for electric mobility charging stations will first be rolled out in cities with a population of greater than 4 million residents i.e. Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Kolkata, Surat and Pune. BMW i Andretti Autosport's Antonio Felix da Costa won the season opener, while reigning champion Jean Eric-Vergne of Techeetah took second place on the podium. Infiniti will preview a vision for its first fully-electric crossover at The North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit in January, revealing a new form design language for electrification, infused with Japanese DNA.
