Hyundai Motors India Limited launched the sub-4 metre compact sedan based on the Grand i10 - the Xcent. There are no cosmetic changes to the front end of the car, but it is the boot of the car that gets redesigned.

The design has been worked around to make the car look like a sedan rather than just adding a boot to it. Features like rear air-con vents, rear parking camera, a push-button start and even a USB-ready audio system with 1GB internal storage make their into the Xcent. Top variants will also include automatic climate control.

Hyundai has managed to make it spacious too and this sedan comes feature packed like the hatchback. There are no changes in the engines they will use and hence the Grandi10 sedan will get the 1.1-litre, 3 cylinder, engine under the hood, as also, the 1.4-litre diesel.

The Grand i10 sedan will enter into a segment which already has some fierce competitors like the Maruti Dzire and the Honda Amaze and it will be interesting to see how that battle turns out to be.
