    BMW has showcased the much awaited BMW 3 Series GT at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo. Expected to be launched sometime in March this year, the diesel 330d will be launched first and the petrol by the end of 2014. 

    The new 3 Series GT shares great resemblance with the BMW 5 Series GT, but the premium styling, up-market interior and enhanced driving dynamics define its class and give it a different character.

    The car offers a boot space of 1600-litre with electrically operated tailgate and lift-back hatch opening. What makes it a true enthusiasts cars is the 3.0-litre straight-six cylinder diesel engine, which comes mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. This engine helps the car accelerate to 100km/h just in 8 seconds.

    The BMW 3-series GT will be manufactured at the company's Chennai plant.
