Worlds Smallest Car Driven Gallantly across Great Britain

- Alex Orchin, a fan of classic cars, has made history in recent times
- He has driven the smallest car in the world across Great Britain
- He has covered the whole length between Lands End and John OGroats
Alex Orchin is a die-hard fan of classic cars and iconic models. He has now set a whole new record for himself! He has succeeded in driving the famous Peel P50, the smallest production car in the world, as per the Guinness World Records, throughout Great Britain. Sounds amazing doesn't it? The tiniest car in the world has taken a huge trip and that too with 23 miles per hour as its top speed!

Alex Orchin has driven through the whole length of what constitutes Great Britain, namely the distance between John O'Groats and Land's End. The Peel P50 was originally built back in the 1960s although it has been revived over the last few years with a single cylinder 40 cc gasoline engine and an electric motor version as well. The car used by Orchin is a petrol version from 2017 that he can tightly fit into, being 5 feet and 11 inches tall himself. The car's top speed as mentioned is 23 miles per hour while Orchin has stated how it violently shakes when the needle goes anywhere near 30 miles per hour!

The Peel P50 became globally acclaimed as the focal point of one of the most popular Top Gear television show segments. Jeremy Clarkson, the show host, himself drove a Peel P50 throughout the city of London and right inside the headquarters of the BBC as well. The trip between the northern John O'Groats and the southern Land's End took a whopping 874 miles and required three weeks to complete. The car is completely focused on commuters without any boot space and taking this aspect into account, a friend of Orchin followed in a support vehicle or camper van. He has also stated that he is the first individual to attempt any such journey in a Peel P50.

The trip was crowd-funded by Orchin while Peel also gave a fresh engine when it came to know of this attempt. The only stumbling block was that the door came off with roughly 50 miles left to cover. Orchin used this journey to help raise money for the charity named BBC Children in Need. He also stated that whenever he parked his vehicle, it used to attract crowds of people who were delighted to see this unique car. He also highlighted the Peel's unique appeal with not only adults but also children.
