Highlights

Volkswagen will be showcasing a new Midsize Coupe design study at the 2014 Beijing Motorshow. The design study hints at a proper 4-door coupe which revives rumours of the Jetta CC. But this is a more stylish Golf-based model.

Volkswagen says that the concept is shorter than the Jetta while being wider than the Passat.

Volkswagen's brand design chief Klaus Bischoff envisioned the concept with a low sloping roof, 20-inch wheels draped in 245/40 tyres along with the chromed dual exhaust setup and a short rear overhang.

The rest of the details still to be known but the 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder 220bhp churning mill will make its way under the bonnet. This takes the car from 0-100km/h in 6.5 seconds and tops out at 245km/h. We'll get you more information closer to its unveil at the Beijing Motor Show
