Two-Wheeler Sales February 2022: Hero MotoCorp Records Sales Decline Of 29.12 Per Cent

- Hero MotoCorp's motorcycle sales went down by 27.01 per cent.
- Its scooter sales went down by 52.56 per cent.
- Its domestic sales went down by 31.57 per cent.
Hero MotoCorp recorded a sales decline of 29.12 per cent in February 2022 selling 3,58,254 units as compared to 5,05,467 units sold in the same month a year ago. The company's motorcycle sales went down by 27.01 per cent selling 3,38,454 units last month as compared to 4,63,723 units sold in the same month a year ago. Hero MotoCorp sold 19,800 scooters last month witnessing a drop of 52.56 per cent when compared to 41,744 units which were sold in the same month a year ago. As far as the domestic market is concerned, the company sold 3,31,462 units in February 2022 recording a decline of 31.57 per cent when compared to 4,84,433 units sold a year ago. That said, its exports went up by 27.34 per cent selling 26,792 units last month as compared to 21,034 units in the same month last year.

In its statement the company said, "With a sharp decline in the number of Covid-19 cases and the economy gradually opening up with several other positive indicators, such as easing of the lockdown restrictions, as well as the measures announced in the FY'23 Union Budget, a swift revival in sales is expected in the coming months."

Hero MotoCorp sold 19,800 scooters last month witnessing a drop of 52.56 per cent.
As far as year-to-date sales are concerned, the company sold 44,93,996 units in the April 2021 - February 2022 period witnessing a decline of 13.81 per cent when compared to 52,14,581 units sold in the same period a year ago. The company sold 42,02,044 units of motorcycles in the same period recording a decline of 12.61 per cent when compared to 48,08,849 units sold a year ago. Its scooter sales too went down by 28.04 per cent selling 2,91,952 units as compared to 4,05,732 units sold in the same period a year ago. In the domestic market it sold 42,27,762 units witnessing a sales decline of 16.37 per cent when compared to 50,55,590 units sold a year ago. In the same period its exports went up by 67.45 per cent at 2,66,234 units as compared to 1,58,991 units exported in the same period a year ago.
