Triumph Motorcycles has teamed up in a unique partnership with renowned British artist Dean Stockton, AKA D*Face to create three art-inspired custom modern classics under the banner of "The spirit of '59". The partnership celebrates the year 1959, which marked the beginning of a new cultural revolution in music, art and culture. Working closely with the Triumph team at the company's factory headquarters in Hinckley, D*Face has customised three unique bikes inspired by the Spirit of '59, and each bike is a model from Triumph's Modern Classic range.
"Triumph Motorcycles have always been linked with the era of freedom that exploded in '59 with the iconic Bonneville T120 and what it represented. First launched in '58, the original Bonnie changed the face of motorcycling across the world and created a legend. The collaboration with D*Face, a genuine creative trailblazer, celebrates the attitude of individuality we feel lives on today in the culture that surrounds us and of course in every Triumph," said Paul Stroud, Chief Commercial Officer, Triumph Motorcycles.
"Riding a custom bike is about standing for what you believe in. It's about expressing that part of yourself that separates you from the rest of the crowd. Triumph has undoubtedly been a fundamental part of that culture for 59 years and I am delighted to be able to play a part in their story and British motorcycle history," said D*Face.
One of these unique bikes will be up for grabs as a prize for anyone who takes a Triumph modern classic test ride between February 7, 2018 and April 30, 2018. Those taking a test ride will have the chance to win one of these unique bikes through a prize draw. The custom bikes have been personally customised by D*Face as part of the collaboration with Triumph. A Bonneville Thruxton R, a Bonneville Bobber Black and a Bonneville T120 have been hand painted by the artist and each bike has been individually customised using custom Triumph accessories.
D*Face, AKA Dean Stockton is an English multimedia street artist who uses spray paint, stickers, posters and stencils, and has countless murals and exhibitions across the globe, from Japan to the US. His work sells regularly to international buyers at auction houses including Sotheby's, Christie's and Bonhams. The hand-painted designs on the three custom Triumph bikes are unique and celebrate the Spirit of '59 through D*Face's distinctive and original style.
