Triumph Motorcycles India Introduces Mobile Dealership

The mobile dealership will reach out to customers in Tier II and Tier III cities, and will display Triumph motorcycles. Customers can take test rides, book motorcycles and even buy Triumph bikes from these mobile dealerships.

Triumph Motorcycles has introduced the first mobile dealership in India, to tap into a customer base in Tier II and Tier III cities. The mobile dealership will have Triumph bikes on display, as well as offer apparel and merchandise on display. The mobile dealership will tour north India and Triumph is expected to reach out to a wider audience of prospective customers through this initiative. The first Triumph mobile dealership was launched on the sidelines of the Triumph Street Triple RS launch in New Delhi.

"The mobile dealership will reach out to our customers in Tier II and Tier III cities. We will initially start off with Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and several cities in Uttar Pradesh, and then gradually move to southern India. Customers can have a look at the bikes, even book test rides, as well as book the bikes and buy them through this mobile dealership," said Vimal Sumbly, Managing Director, Triumph Motorcycles India.

Triumph currently has 17 motorcycle models on sale in India, which are offered through 14 dealerships across the country. Three more dealerships will be inaugurated soon in Goa, Mangalore and Gurgaon. According to Sumbly, Triumph Motorcycles will be assembling most of the bikes sold in India at its facility in Manesar, Haryana. Over 90 per cent of the bikes sold in India will be assembled from completely knocked down (CKD) kits. The mobile dealership will be supported by Triumph dealerships, which will provide demo bikes for prospective customers to take test rides and book bikes on the spot.

Triumph intends to increase its market share from the current 28 per cent in the Indian superbike market costing above Rs. 5 lakh. In the period from April to September 2017, while the overall motorcycle segment in the above 500 cc class witnessed negative sales, Triumph witnessed 27 per cent year on year growth in the July to September 2017 period.
