Tips On How To Sanitize Your Car
Highlights
Cleaning a car's interiors is just as essential as shining its outer body. A car that is cleaned from inside out regularly will have less chances of spreading infections and diseases. A car's interiors often get exposed to dirt and germs as people keep moving in and out of the car. This not only is bad for the health of the passengers, it also makes the car look dirty and worn out. Here's how you can avoid such a situation and clean your car with these steps:
Clear the trash and dirt
Take a good look inside your car and pick up any trash lying around. Clean the cabinet, under the seats and inside the car and seat covers. Take out the floor mats and keep them aside. Clear the dirt under the mats and in the trunk.
Clean the floor mats
Dust the floor mats as much as possible. After that, you can scrub them with soap solution which will remove any stuck dirt and will also disinfect the mats. Hang them dry before reinstalling. If anything like chewing gum is stuck to your car mat, freeze it by putting ice on top of it for about 20 minutes and peel it off.
Vacuum the car seats
Car seats need to be thoroughly vacuumed to remove any dust or dirt settled on the seats. If you have seat covers over the original seat material, remove them to clean separately. Once you've vacuumed the car you can take a fabric cleaner of your choice and scrub the seats. Limit the use of water but make sure that the entire seat area goes through one cycle of soap and water scrubbing. Make sure that the seats are completely dry before closing the car gate. If you have leather seats, your task becomes easier. Leather seats need to be sprayed with a cleaner and wiped clean.
Clean the car covers
Car covers can be cleaned by hand or in machine (if permitted). Otherwise, you can send the car covers to the dry cleaner for thorough cleaning.
Clean the windows and surrounding area
Use a glass cleaner to wipe the windows clean, inside and out. Clean the plastic areas in the same way. You can use a toothbrush to reach tough parts. Toothbrushes are effective in cleaning the crevices in the car. For even deeper cleaning of minute corners where ample dust accumulates, use Q-tips dipped in cleaner or disinfectant.
At the end, you can use plastic treatment to shine the interiors of the car. But do not use any treatments on car covers or areas where wires are exposed. Repeating these steps regularly will ensure you have a clean and happy driving experience. It will also help you stay free from infections and diseases.
