1962 Ferrari 250 GTO Scaglietti Chassis 3413GT
This 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO bagged an auctioning price of a whopping $48,405,000. RM Sotheby sold this beauty at an auction in August 2018. It is the world's most expensive auctioned car to date.
This car was the third among 36 GTOs that were built and is one of the most original and authentic examples of its kind. What's more, the car won a total of 15 tournaments between 1962 to 1965 in GT World Championship seasons.
1962 Ferrari 250 GTO Berlinetta Chassis 3851GT
There is no end to the demand for this vintage race winning car. Auction house Bonhams sold the 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO Chassis 3851GT for a staggering $38,115,000 in August 2015. The car is one of the most iconic two-seat front-engine coupes to come out of Ferrari´s Maranello factory. Owned by wealthy Ferrari enthusiast Fabrizio Violati for 45 years, the car had a chequered past beginning with ownership with a F1 driver, hill climbing racer, a Gran Turismo racer and then finally the loving hands of Violati.
Ferrari built this beast to participate in the 1962 3-litre FIA GT World Championship series. Since there are only 36 units of this model, we think the exorbitant price tag is a great bargain!
1954 Mercedes-Benz W196R Chassis No.00006/54
This beauty was sold for a whopping $29,60,000 by Bonhams in July 2013. This fantastic car marked the comeback of Germany in Grand Prix Racing by securing a win in the French GP. Also, the carmaker built only 14 examples of the W196.
This model was driven by Fangio, which makes it historically significant. The inline-eight engines with desmodromic valves pump out 286bhp. Plus, it can touch a top speed of an impressive 300 km/h.
1956 Ferrari 290 MM chassis 0626
This Ferrari was sold for $35,730,00 by Artcurial in Feb 2016. A robust 4.1-litre 394bhp V12 engine pushes this car to deliver 300 km/h speed. Moreover, this Ferrari model has competed in several races and seated several famous drivers. And yes, there are only four units of the 1956 Ferrari 290!
1956 Aston Martin DBR1
The 1956 Aston martin won several championships and events and the hearts of several car enthusiasts. In an auction in August 2017, RM Sotheby sold this car for $22,550,00. The 1956 Aston Martin is also the first of DBR1's five vehicles.
Legends like Carroll Shelby, Jack Brabham, and Stirling Moss have piloted this fantastic car. The car features a powerful engine that pumps out 301bhp. It also won the Nürburgring 1000km in 1959.
1935 Duesenberg SSJ
Gooding & Co sold this car for $22,000,000 in August 2018. Duesenberg was a producer of high-end luxury cars between the 20s and 30s. The vehicles from this manufacturer were notorious for their stealth and power-packed performance.
You should also know that Duesenberg initially started to produce race cars and race engines. Gary Cooper, the Hollywood legend, placed a purchase order for this four-wheeler at that time. It boasts of a 6.9-litre inline-eight engine that delivers 400bhp.
