At one point Al Pacino was slated to play the role, then Hugh Jackman became involved and now there seems to be finality with Driver.

Star Wars actor Adam Driver who played the seminal Kylo Ren the sequel trilogy of the space opera series has been selected to be part of the Enzo Ferrari biopic movie. The movie will chronicle the history of the iconic Ferrari brand which Enzo founded in 1947. This movie will follow his life in the 50's, 1957 being the year in question when Ferrari was facing bankruptcy. 

The time chronicled in the movie will also likely showcase turmoil in Enzo Ferrari's life when he lost his eldest son Dino with his marriage being in crisis. At the time, the ex racing driver took on the greatest challenge of his life racing 1,600 kilometres across Italy in the Mille Miglia.

Originally, X-Men star Hugh Jackman had been rumoured to be linked to the project since 2020 but since then he has dropped out from the project. Penelope Cruz is said to be playing the role of the legendary automotive czar's wife; Laura Ferrari alongside Shailene Woodley who has been rumoured to be playing the role of his mistress Lina Lardi who is also the mother of his second son Ferrari vice chairman, Piero Ferrari. 

The movie is based on the Brock Yates book from 1991 dubbed "Enzo Ferrari: The Man, The Cars and the Races". This movie has been in the works for a long time since the 90s when Al Pacino was once also involved with the project. The filming for the movie is scheduled to take place this spring on location in Modena and Emilia Romagna which right next to the home of the Ferrari factory and the San Marino GP race track which is also named after Enzo.
