Royal Enfield Sales Grow 36 per Cent in May

Royal Enfield continues being on a run as far as sales are concerned, clocking a 36 per cent jump in domestic sales in May 2016. In all, Royal Enfield sold 48,604 motorcycles in the month, with 47,232 units sold in the domestic market.

Royal Enfield continues being on a run as far as sales are concerned, clocking a 36 per cent jump in domestic sales in May 2016. In all, Royal Enfield sold 48,604 motorcycles in the month, with 47,232 units sold in the domestic market.

The Chennai-based two wheeler manufacturer exported 1,372 motorcycles, reporting a massive jump of 86 per cent in exports over the same month last year. In May 2015, 739 Royal Enfield motorcycles were exported.

The 350cc models continue to form the bulk of Royal Enfield sales, accounting for 43,217 units, a growth of 38 per cent. Models with engine capacity exceeding 350cc sold 5,387 units, a growth of 31 per cent.

Royal Enfield motorcycles continue to enjoy popular demand with long waiting periods for most models. The Royal Enfield Classic 350 continues to be the single largest selling model. Royal Enfield has launched the new adventure tourer Himalayan, and it seems to have attracted interest from Royal Enfield fans and touring fans alike. Currently, there is a long waiting period for the Himalayan as well, and the company will be looking to clock some sales numbers in the next few months.
