Royal Enfield has launched the refreshed Himalayan in Japan, which meets Euro 5 emission regulations Tripper Navigation pod, switchable ABS and three new colours. Royal Enfield started operations in Japan with a flagship store in Tokyo, which was inaugurated in January 2021. The presence of Royal Enfield in Japan is seen as a major move to strengthen the brand's push in the Asia-Pacific region, and the Himalayan, along with the 650 Twins are expected to spearhead Royal Enfield's push into the Japanese market.

The refreshed Royal Enfield Himalayan was launched in India earlier in 2021, and is available with minor cosmetic and feature updates, as well as three new colours, which include Pine Green, Mirage Silver and Granite Black. In addition, the Himalayan gets the Tripper Navigation pod, offering real-time navigation, and built with Google Maps platform. There are minor cosmetic changes on the Himalayan as well, with a slightly taller windshield, a revised design on the tank guards, improved seat cushioning and an additional plate on the luggage carrier.

The 411 cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, single overhead cam (SOHC) engine remains the same, and puts out 24.3 bhp at 6,500 rpm and 32 Nm of peak torque between 4,000-4,500 rpm. The fuel-injected engine gets the same 5-speed gearbox as well. Suspension and braking hardware remains the same, as does the half-duplex cradle frame. Front suspension is handled by 41 mm forks with 200 mm travel, while rear suspension is a monoshock with 180 mm travel, and ground clearance of 220 mm. Braking is dual-channel anti-lock braking system (ABS), with ABS on the rear wheel switchable.
