Highlights

Following the introduction of the standard Range Rover Hybrid at the Frankfurt Motor Show last year, Land Rover has now unveiled the Long Wheelbase version of the hybrid at the Beijing Motor Show. Together with the Range Rover Sport Hybrid, the LWB Range Rover Hybrid will be the first diesel hybrid model from any carmaker in China.

The company says that the bookings for the car will open in May and the car will be delivered to customers in China by the end of the year. The long wheelbase version will offer 186mm more legroom for rear seat passengers and, with the option of the executive seating package, the rear seats can be reclines to 17 degrees.

The Range Rover Hybrid derives its power from the same 3.0-litre SDV6 diesel engine with a 170Nm electric motor that mated to an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission returns 335bhp and 700Nm. The system allows the driver to select from 3 different drive modes to maximise performance or efficiency, and is competent of returning 26 per cent lower CO2 emissions (169g/km) and 6.4 l/100 km.

The car uses the same Terrain Response system and all-wheel drive technology deployed in the petrol and diesel-powered models. The Wading depth remains unchanged with a class-leading 900mm capacity.
