Post Bajaj-Split, Kawasaki To Participate In 2018 Auto Expo
Highlights
- Kawasaki and Bajaj ended its alliance earlier this year
- Kawasaki now operates via standalone outlets and is expanding its network
- Bajaj Auto has announced that it won't be participating in the Auto Expo
India Kawasaki Motor has been confirmed to participate in the upcoming 2018 Auto Expo that will be held next between February 9-14 at the India Expo Mart, Greater Noida. The Japanese manufacturer has been in India for a while now but did not participate in the biennial event over the years. This was largely due to the fact that Kawsaki's Indian partner Bajaj Auto chose to stay away from the Auto Expo. However, with the alliance coming to an end earlier this year, the Ninja maker will now be establishing its presence at the county's biggest automotive event.

Kawasaki is expected to showcase its complete range at the 2018 Auto Expo, while it isn't if the company will launch or showcase something special at the event. The Kawasaki range comprises motorcycles priced between Rs. 3-30 lakh (ex-showroom), which includes the likes of the Kawasaki Z250, Ninja 300, Ninja 650 and Z650; Z900, Ninja ZX-10RR and ZX-14R and many more. Kawasaki India also retails the KLX series of dirt bikes in the country that aren't street legal, but can be used on private tracks. Kawasaki now has 14 standalone outlets across the country and is looking to expand to more with time.
Kawasaki and Bajaj Auto ended its alliance mutually on March 31, 2017 with the former moving out of the Indian company's pro-biking showrooms. Kawasaki now retails and provides after-sales and service through India Kawasaki Motors, a 100 per cent subsidiary of Kawasaki Heavy Industries that was established in July 2010.
Apart from Kawasaki, DSK Benelli, UM Motorcycle are also confirmed to participate in the 2018 Auto Expo. The regulars Hero MotoCorp, Honda and TVS will also be a part of the event and could possibly introduce some new concepts and models for the Indian market. About 50 manufacturers across two-wheelers, carmakers, tyres and electric vehicle companies are expected to participate in the Auto Expo next year.
