Highlights

Porsche has sent out letters to the owners of its 911 GT3 sports cars and said that they will replace the engines in all of its 2014 model year 911 GT3s. The company has urged the owners of the sports car to stop driving the cars because they could catch fire.

The recall affects 785 units of the 2014 911 GT3 cars produced. Porsche investigated two engine fires in which a loosened fastener caused oil to leak, which then caught fire. Porsche has said nothing about how much this replacement would cost the company but said that the new engines will have optimized fastners.

Porsche has maintained that the other 911 models and variants are not affected.
