It had been a much anticipated return to the Le Mans Endurance Race circuit for Porsche and though they failed to put a great performance their first time around after a 16 year absence. However, though the spirits may be down, Porsche has released a new video that celebrates their return to Le Mans.

It was Audi, Porsche's c corporate cousins who yet again achieved a 1-2 victory and this video is all about sharing what Porsche feels about the entire race. While it goes on to show how Porsche is now 'where it belongs' the video also goes on to say that 'You can lose a challenge, as long as you battle courageously.'

Porsche also took the opportunity to congratulate their four-ringed rivals and their team's valiant efforts, a gesture which looks more like a 'thank you' note to Audi's welcoming video.

It cannot be denied that Porsche was in the running for a podium finish. The No.20 Porsche 919 Hybrid - driven by Timo Bernhard, Brendon Hartley and Mark Webber would have shared the podium with the Audi had it not been for a powertrain problem which forced it to retire after 22 hours of racing. The other car, however finished the race in 11th place overall with 348 laps under its belt.

So, here is the video that surmises Porsche's outing at their very first Le Mans race after 16 years.
