Ola Electric Appoints N Balachandar As Chief Human Resource Officer

- N Balachandar joins Ola Electric as Chief Human Resource Officer

- He's worked with companies like GE Capital, Coffee Day Group etc.
Ola Electric announced the appointment of N Balachandar as the Chief Human Resource Officer, going forward. N Balachandar is expected to help Ola Electric attract good talent, with a focus on people and culture globally. Balachandar is a 33 year veteran in the HR industry and has worked in companies across Europe, Asia and India. He has worked with companies like GE Healthcare, GE capital, Strides Arcolab, Standard Chartered Bank, Asian Paints and most recently; he served as the Group Director, Coffee Day Group.

Commenting on the appointment, Bhavish Aggarwal, Chairman and Group CEO, Ola, said, "As we work on driving growth and building a global EV company, we are ramping up our focus on building a world-class people organisation. Bala's over three decades of experience across various consumer-facing segments will help us ensure we rapidly scale up the organisation's structure, capacity, and capability to meet our global growth ambitions".

Upon joining Ola Electric, N Balachandar, CHRO, said, "I am excited to join Ola's mission to transition the world to sustainable mobility. The fully operational plant will meet Industry 4.0 standards will have an installed capacity of 10 million electric scooters per annum. The capacity will stand at two million units per year in Phase 1. The plant will have 10 general assembly lines and will be able to roll out a scooter every two seconds, and 25,000 batteries per day. The made-in-India scooters will be exported to Europe, UK, Latin America, Asia Pacific, Australia and New Zealand, apart from being sold in India.
