Highlights

Volkswagen has published the first official design sketches for the next generation Tiguan. The car will make its debut at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show and we'll have more details about it soon. But from the sketches we can clearly see where the inspiration comes from.

The design of the car is heavily influenced by the Volkswagen Cross Coupe GTE concept. The transition from concept to production car sees a slightly toned down design but yet it impresses us. Considering that the car that you see in the sketches is making its way to India, we clearly are interested in how it turns out to be.

    Volkswagen Tiguan

Sadly, the previous generation of the Tiguan never made it to India, but the company had already announced plans of bringing this SUV to India and we are very interested on how this generation has turned out to be,

The new Tiguan will be based on the MQB platform and will be slightly longer than its predecessor, featuring shorter overhangs. According to company, the second generation of the SUV will be 80 kg lighter than the current model. We expect it to come with the 1.4-litre TSI petrol and the 2.0-litre TDI diesel units but the European markets will also get a plug-in hybrid version.

More details on the car will pour out soon so stay tuned!
