- The new Mercedes-Benz C-Class will be launched on May 10, 2022.
- The cabin brings design cues from the Mercedes-Benz S-Class.
- Also on offer is the latest generation of MBUX technology.
Mercedes-Benz India is all set to launch the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class in the country on May 10, 2022, and even showcased the India-spec version earlier this week. The fifth-generation C-Class made its global debut last year and only comes to India this month due to the global outage of electrical components and supply chain issues caused by the pandemic. However, the new C-Class is finally here, and ahead of its launch next week, we check out its interior, features, as well as the connected car tech it offers since Mercedes-Benz India calls it the most advanced C-Class ever built.

In a conversation with carandbike, Martin Schwenk, MD & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India said, “The inside looks very similar to the S-Class, especially when we talk about the genes of the C-Class being the same as its elder sibling. I think we can honestly say that it's a very high-tech design, very much in focus to what customers expect from a Mercedes-Benz.”

The new Mercedes-Benz C-Class comes with a freestanding 12.3-inch digital instrument panel.
The cabin of the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class brings design cues from the Mercedes-Benz S-Class and carries the tag of being the ‘Baby S-Class'. It has sporty touches thanks to the driver-centered design and a progressive interior with a focus on technology and high-quality materials with its host of new trim options, freestanding 12.3-inch digital instrument panel, and new large 11.9-inch central touchscreen multimedia display. Adopted from the S-Class, its portrait orientation is particularly advantageous for full-screen navigation. As an exclusive new C-Class feature, the 11.9-inch central display is slightly tilted towards the driver by 6 degrees for the first time.

The new C-Class will be available with three interior colour options – Macchiato beige, Sienna Brown and Jet Black paired with either open-pore wood trim with aluminum inserts or a metal weave trim depending on the variant. A refined finishing detail, a high-quality chrome insert creates a clean divide to the rear, padded section of the armrest, while the modern, minimalist design of the door panels frames both ends of the dashboard. Another highlight is the floating control cluster, into which the door opener and seat adjustment controls are integrated. The seat design in the new C-Class uses layers to create a visual impression of lightness as the head restraints are a completely new design and attached to the backrest with a sealed piece of trim.

Also on offer is the latest generation of Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX) technology that allows individual profiles activated by biometric authentication via the fingerprint sensor for personalisation. Additionally, the new C-Class also comes with standard wireless smartphone integration with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. You also get the voice assistant "Hey Mercedes" which is now more interactive and capable of learning by activating online services in the Mercedes me App. Thanks to improved surround sensors, the parking systems give the driver even better support when maneuvering at low speeds. Operation is faster and more intuitive thanks to integration into MBUX. Music is controlled by the Burmester sound system.
