New-Generation Royal Enfield Classic 350 Launched In India

The all-new Royal Enfield Classic 350 is finally here! Ending months of anticipation, the prices for the 2021 Royal Enfield Classic 350 have been announced and they start at Rs. 1.84 lakh (ex-showroom) and go up to Rs. 2.15 lakh. The Classic 350 is perhaps the highest-selling model from Royal Enfield, accounting for nearly 80 per cent of the company's sales. It will be the second all-new model to be launched by the company after the Meteor 350, based the J-platform, which means it gets the same double-cradle chassis as the Meteor 350. It gets the same 349 cc single-cylinder DOHC engine, making 20.2 bhp at 6,100 rpm and 27 Nm of peak torque at 4,000 rpm. The engine is paired to a 5-speed gearbox.

In terms of design, the motorcycle continues to retain its familiar silhouette, of a modern classic motorcycle. There are a total of 11 colour options, with each having different price points. The instrument console is part analogue part digital. The small digital readout displays fuel gauge, odometer, etc. but a gear position indicator and distance to empty data are missing, which should have been offered. Top-spec variants of the new Classic 350 get the Tripper Navigation pod, which offers turn by turn navigation and Bluetooth connectivity.

The handlebar and the switchgear are the same as the Meteor 350 as well. The brakes have been updated, with the front end getting a 300 mm disc and a 270 mm at the rear and better Bybre calipers. The front end also gets fatter 41 mm front forks and the rear dual shock absorbers get more travel which are said to offer a better ride. The 19-inch front and 18-inch wheels are thicker too, shod with fatter rubber, with a 100 mm front section tyre, and 120 mm section rear tyre. Some variants of the next generation Royal Enfield Classic 350 get alloy wheels and tubeless tyres, just like the Meteor 350.
Royal Enfield will offer a bunch of customisation option through the 'Make it Yours' online initiative, where customers can choose the colours, seat options and accessorise the new Classic 350 according to their own personal taste.
The all-new Classic 350 will go up against the likes of the Jawa Classic and the Honda H'Ness CB350.
