The new 2019 Mercedes-Benz V-Class MPV has beenlaunched in India as a Complete Built Unit (CBU) with prices starting at Rs. 68.40 lakh, ex-showroom, India.

Maruti's latest model, the third generation Wagon R gets two engine options for the first time. Both build on the existing K-Series family, and have been reworked for better mileage. But neither is Bharat Stage 6 compliant. The Wagon R will go BS6 though well before the April 2020 deadline.

The 1,500 kg bus can accommodate up to 15 people and can be used inside closed campuses. The on-road version will come later.

The new 2019 Mercedes-Benz V-Class MPV has been officially launched in India today, priced at Rs. 68.40 lakh for the expression line variant and Rs. 81.90 lakh for the top-end exclusive line variant, all prices ex-showroom, India. While the MPV segment might not be all new for the Stuttgart-based carmaker in India, this is nonetheless a bold step for the company. The new V-Class is the first model to be launched by Mercedes-Benz India in 2019 and marks the company's re-entry into a segment which is not really popular among luxury carmakers in India. The new Mercedes-Benz V-Class will be sold here as a completely built unit (CBU) and will be imported from Spain.

Hyundai Kona Electric will be locally manufactured in India and the Korean carmaker will be investing Rs. 7000 crores in its Chennai manufacturing facility a major part of it will go into the development of a new assembly for this upcoming electric crossover.

The new Mercedes-Benz V-Class brings improved luxury, style and opulence to what is a van and will be coming to the country via the CBU route. Mercedes-Benz feels confident about entering the niche segment with the V-Class, which may not be popular in sales but does have a market. The V Class is priced from Rs. 68.40 lakh for the base Expression trim and fours up to Rs. 81.90 lakh for the range-topping Exclusive trim (all prices, ex-showroom).
