Hyundai Venue Launched In India; Prices Start At Rs. 6.50 Lakh
The Hyundai Venue subcompact SUV has finally been launched in India. Prices for the new Hyundai Venue start at Rs. 6.50 lakh for the base petrol version, going up to Rs. 11.10 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom India) for the range-topping automatic variant. The Venue made its global debut last month in India as well as the US, and will be taking on a number of offerings including the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Mahindra XUV300, Tata Nexon and the Ford Ecosport. Hyundai garnered over 2000 pre-bookings for the Venue in a single day, promising a strong start for the SUV. Deliveries will begin by later this month.

Mercedes-Benz has launched the BS6 compliant E-Class Long Wheelbase in India. The Mercedes-Benz E-Class is available in both the petrol and diesel variants and it is priced at Rs. 57.50 lakh for the base Expression E 200 petrol variant going up to Rs. 61.50 lakhfor the top-spec petrol; while the diesel costs Rs. 58.50 lakh with the range topping out at Rs 62.50 lakh for Exclusive E 220 d(all prices ex-showroom, India). Under the hood of the E 200 petrol is the new BS 6 compliant 2.0-litre, four-cylinder M 264 motor which puts out 194 bhp and 320 Nm of peak torque which can propel the car to 100 kmph from a standstill in 8 seconds. The E 220 d gets the OM 654 2.0-litre, four-cylinder diesel motor which churns out 197 bhp and 400 Nm of peak torque. The E-Class LWB diesel is quicker than its petrol counterpart and can do a 0-100 kmph sprint in 7.3 seconds.

Images of the upcoming Bharat Stage VI (BS6) compliant Mahindra XUV500 have recently surfaced online. The spy video posted by the YouTube handle Power Stroke, reveals a host different BS6 compliant Mahindra products, including the Bolero pick-up, was spotted undergoing testing, and in their midst, we also get to see a BS6 compliant Mahindra XUV500. This is not the first Mahindra SUV to have been spotted testing for the new emission norms. Early this month we also shared spy photos of the BS6 compliant XUV300 undergoing testing in India, which indicates that Mahindra plans to be ready for the new emission norms very much in advance.
